Estate Mount Washington animal mill

Estate Mount Washington (West) old animal mill built in the 1750s. There is a possibility that Estate Mount Washington could have been named after George Washington. According to historical document that stated, “In 1758-1766, the Estates Mount Washington, Bulter Bay, and Prospect Hill were owned and operated but the same Family ( McDonnough-Dunbavin). Capt. James Hanson and his brother John then acquired Bulter Bay and Prospect Hill. John Hanson was the first president of the Continental Congress and a friend of George Washington; hence we suspect the origin of the naming of Mount Washington.” (Photo by Olasee Davis)
