Dear Editor,
We are concerned about the late afternoon party boat traffic returning from Buck Island.
Oftentimes they swing into Chenay Bay around the point where the homeowner has an American flag displayed. This is a prime snorkeling area and the snorkelers are poorly visible in the water and hard to see when traveling in a boat going at a high rate of speed. With the afternoon sun it seems like this is “an accident waiting to happen.”
Could the Coast Guard or some other agency post this area as a “No Wake Zone” or “Do Not Enter” as this is a prime snorkeling area? Most of the boats swinging into Chenay Bay continue on down the shore and are not stopping in Chenay Bay.
Sincerely,
Doug and Linda Jones
