At about 6:40 a.m. Wednesday detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau and officers of the Special Operations Bureau arrested Kyle Stapleton, age 34 of Tan Tan Terrace, on a warrant issued by the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, the V.I. Police Department reported.
He was charged with first-degree aggravated rape, first-degree assault, first-degree unlawful sexual contact, aggravated child abuse and neglect, possession of visual medium depicting sexually explicit conduct and distribution or exhibition to minor.
The investigation into this incident revealed that in October 2020, Stapleton sexually assaulted a minor.
The warrant was issued on March 4, and Stapleton was located and placed under arrest. His bail was set at $200,000. He was not able to post bail and was subsequently turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections, pending his advice of rights hearing.
