Upper Love Man Charged with Domestic-Violence Burglary

The V.I. Police Department on Monday arrested 40-year-old Nigel J. Hazel of Upper Love and charged him with second-degree burglary/domestic violence.

The arrest took place at about 7:31 p.m., Feb. 22.

According to police, at approximately noon on Saturday, Hazel entered the female victim’s residence without her permission. Upon entering her residence, Hazel kicked in the bedroom door and destroyed items inside the residence, police said.

Hazel was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections without bail, as per the territory’s domestic violence laws, pending his advice of rights hearing.
