The V.I. Police Department on Monday arrested Shakur A. C. Joseph, age 23 of Croixville Apartments, charging him with second-degree assault/domestic violence.
According to police, at roughly 9:05 that morning Joseph got into an altercation with a female victim, allegedly strangling and assaulting her. Officers arrested him at around 6:46 p.m.
Joseph was not offered bail, in accordance with the Virgin Islands’ domestic violence statutes. He was subsequently turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections, pending his advice of rights hearing.
