St. Croix Man Charged with Stabbing

A 62-year-old St. Croix man was arrested Saturday and charged with first-degree assault after another man was assaulted with a knife.

According to the V.I. Police Department, at 1:47 a.m. Sept. 19, police arrested Luis Lopez, of Sion Farm, charging him with first-degree assault.

Police said Lopez assaulted a man with a knife, causing injuries. The incident occurred in Estate Glynn. The victim, whose name was not released by police in accordance with department policy, was transported to the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

Bail for Lopez was set at $75,000. Unable to post bail, he was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
