The reported number of COVID-19 deaths in the territory rose by one Tuesday as the V.I. Department of Health adjusted its total to seven. The department had earlier in the day reported the death, at Schneider Regional Medical Center on St. Thomas, as possibly COVID-related.

The Health Department’s daily report also included an increase in total cases by 12 – seven on St. Croix, two on St. Thomas and three on St. John, the highest single-day increase on that island.

According to Tuesday’s report, 7,890 tests have been conducted in the territory. Of those, 336 have been reported as positive. The number of COVID-19 cases considered recovered increased by 24, from 158 reported Monday to 182 on Tuesday.

The number of COVID tests that have returned negative rose by 647 to 7,500 from the previous day’s total of 6,853.
