VIPA to Install New Seating at V.I. Airports

New seats to be installed at both Virgin Islands airports.

The Virgin Islands Port Authority will be installing new seating in the departure lounges at both the Cyril E. King Airport and the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport terminals.  The new seating includes electrical ports to allow travelers to charge mobile devices while waiting for their flights, said VIPA Executive Director Carlton Dowe.  He added that the chairs will be arranged to allow for social distancing as much as possible within the limited space in the waiting areas at both terminals.

Installation of the chairs will begin on Sunday, June 28, at Rohlsen Airport and the second week of July at King Airport.  It will be done during low traffic times and will not interrupt airport operations.  Dowe thanked the traveling public for their patience as the Port Authority continues its mission to provide upgraded and safe facilities while improving the departure and arrival experience at the U.S. Virgin Islands’ ports.
