Carmen Maria Pillot Brignoni Dies at 97

Carmen Maria Pillot Brignoni

Carmen Maria Pillot Brignoni, also known as Mary, died on June 10 in Jacksonville, Fla., at the age of 97.

She was raised in Christiansted, St. Croix, and attended primary and secondary Catholic and public schools in Christiansted, U.S. Virgin Islands. She worked in the Department of Education for over 20 years and at the Finance Department of New York State.

She is survived by daughters: Carmen Pillot Henry and Malvelina Pillot Monell; granddaughter: Natasha Monell Betterson and spouse, Keith Betterson; great-grandchildren: Daniel David Diaz and Jordan Alexis Diaz; sons-in-law: Robert Allen Henry and Carlos Monell; sisters: Matilda Brignoni, Lydia Lockhart and Juanita Berrios; and sisters-in-law: Maria Brignoni and Victoria Brignoni.

She is also survived by cousins: Eleuterio Torres, Carlos Torres, Inocencia Torres Garcia, Maria Brignoni and Luz Rivera Armstrong; nieces and nephews: Jose Manuel Trinidad, Francisco Trinidad, Carlos J. Marzan, Teresa Jaffett, Carmen Berrios, Edna Cotton, Amelia Rivera, Mario Daniel, Violet Hodge, Diana Perez, Aracelis Conigliaro, Santos Perez, Kelvin Berrios, Edward Berrios, Ju-ana Brown and Suni Lin Magras; and many great nieces and nephews.

Other survivors include special family and friends: Carlos Berrios, Lydia Monell, Nestor and Tony Martinez, Roberto Laloma and family, Tony Diaz, Joan Henry and family, Benjamin Rivera, Athena Daniel, Stanley Jacobs, Dr. Olaf Hendricks and family, Marbel Tabares and family, Michael and Steve Felton, Michael Feltman, Boris Roman, Sister Ann, Sister Emmanuel, Kati Knowles, Elizabeth O’Neill, Joel and Richard Siegel, and Minga Rodriguez.

The funeral service will be held at noon, Wednesday, June 17, at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211.  Website: www.ArlingtonParkFuneralHome.com
