Crime of the Week: Crime Stoppers Offers Rewards for Homicide Info

The anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, is offering as much as $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of any individual or individuals responsible for any unsolved homicide in the territory.

In its Crime of the Week news release, the organization listed five recent homicides.

โ€“ 4:19 a.m. April 8:ย Officers arrived in the area of Queen Louise Home for the Aged on St. Thomas and discovered an unresponsive Deshaune Harrigan with multiple gunshots about his body.

โ€“ 8:12 p.m. April 8:ย Michael McKie was discovered in the Hospital Ground area of Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas. He was unresponsive with several gunshot wounds about his body.

โ€“ 8:07 a.m. April 10:ย Officers discovered an unresponsive Junior Akimo Freeman in the area of the Winston Raymo Center in Hospital Ground โ€“ several gunshot wounds about his body.

โ€“ 6:51 p.m. May 9:ย Units from the Ancilmo Marshall Command on St. Croix were dispatched to an area in Estate Castle Coakley where reports indicated an unidentified individual had been shot. Upon arrival, Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives and forensic officers located and recovered multiple types of firearm spent casings. At the Juan F. Luis Hospital, detectives made contact with an adult male who had been shot multiple times in various locations on his body. The victim said that he was sitting under a tree when a vehicle pulled up and fired shots at him. The victim added that he was unable to provide any suspect information at the time.

Callers will be issued a confidential PIN and are encouraged to check back frequently for reward eligibility. Information that leads to the resolution of a crime can qualify the caller for an anonymous cash reward.
