Clayton Williams Dies in Texas

Clayton Williams

Clayton Williams, also known as “Redds,” was born to Olga Fahie and Norman Williams on Aug.  24, 1951, on St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands.

Redds died peacefully on Jan. 28, in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by his wife, sister, children, grandchildren and close friends.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Clarice Williams; sons: Clayton Williams Jr. (Nakeitha), Keimo Williams (Gracie), Mark Williams and Demarcus Clanton (Davalawn); daughters: Kelly Williams (Brandon), Christal Blackmon (Eddie) and Amber Williams (Adrienne); and 26 grandchildren: Cody Williams, Chalendria Williams, Clayton Williams III, Nakeira Pitre, Comfort Williams, Alyssa Williams, Jahkeimo Williams, Ke’Jahnae Williams, Harmony Williams, Hope Williams, Honor Williams, Keimo Williams Jr., Heiress Williams, Honesty Williams, Henri Seastrunk, Hendria Seastrunk, Markel Phillips, Demarcus Vatin, Damiyah Vatin, Karizma Blackmon, Kellyse Blackmon, Aria Brown, Terrell Brown Jr., Trevin Clanton and Akio Clanton.

He is also survived by great-grandchildren: Case Williams, Kelhani Seastrunk and Josiah Pitre; sisters: Consuelo Fleming (Clarence), Lavern Huggins (Alvin), Denise Hazelwood, Gwendolyn Williams, Susan Williams, Leona Williams and Juliette; brother, Eugene Williams; mother-in-law, Lillian Aubrey; sisters-in-law: Inez Williams, Cleo Berkley, Leona Chinnery, Elaine Aubrey, Julie Elliott (Hugh) and Irene Goodings (Eroll); brothers-in-law: Arlington Aubrey Sr., Alfred Aubrey (Sonia), Allen Aubrey, Luther Aubrey Jr. and Luden Harrigan; and nieces and nephews: Lamont Harrigan (Rosemarie), Michelle Hart, Shari Jarvis, Dr. Kristie Norwood, Danesa Webb (Oneal), Dan’l Harvey (Brandaise), Dale Williams, Glenis Thomas, Sharon Williams, Lindel, Raymond Wayne, Patrice, Denise, Patrick, Aisha, Corene, Lelan, Catherine Williams, Alexander Williams, Rose Edloe, Leona Hunter and Arlington Jr.

Other survivors include great nieces and nephews: Laneicia Harrison, Jairon Hart, Londyn Logan and Larenz Harrigan; godmother, Eugenie Castillo Milliner; cousins: Adelita Callwood, Nydia, Cedric and Clifton Gumbs; godchildren: Bokeem and Marisa Martin, Sean Peters, Kareem, Caicai and Cindy Henly; special friends: Maurice And Bernice Elliott, Oliver Chinnery, Henri White, Ann Paul, Claude Drew, Janet Davis, Class of 1971, the entire families of Coki Point and Smith Bay, and The Yard Crew.

The first viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. The second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a service at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 21, at Christ Church Methodist. Interment will be at Coki Point Cemetery.
