Robbery Reported in Downtown Christiansted

A masked gunman stole the car of a man in downtown Christiansted early Wednesday, according to the V.I. Police Department.

Officers at the VIPD’s Ancilmo Marshall Command in Christiansted. received a report at 2:43 a.m. Wednesday of a first-degree robbery.

The male victim, whose name as not released by police in pursuance of department policy, reported that he was asleep in his vehicle, which was parked on King Street. He was awakened by an unknown individual wearing a ski mask, who opened the car door and pointed a gun at him.

The suspect pulled the victim out of the vehicle onto the ground, got into the vehicle and drove off.
