Vincent Claxton Jr. Dies at 55

Vincent Claxton Jr.

Vincent Claxton Jr., also known as “Papus,” of Estate Peter’s Rest died on Thursday, Oct. 10. He was 55 years old.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Claxton Sr. and his sister, Sharon Claxton.

He is survived by his mother, Julia Colon Claxton; sisters: Alma Ayala, Iris Maldonado, Beulah Claxton, Carem France and Beverly Claxton; brothers: Edwin Claxton, Charles Claxton, Calvin Claxton, Wendell Claxton and Luis Ortiz; nieces: Daisy Ayala Khan, Julie and Lovanne Briggs, Clarissia Claxton, Moriyah Claxton, Shyana Claxton, and Raemeisha Claxton, Carian Claxton, Lannihya Roebuck, Zyniha Johnson, Nordia Drew and Shericia Parris; and nephews: Luis R. Ayala Jr., Edwin Maldonado, Edwin Claxton Jr., Calvin Claxton Jr., Wendell Claxton Jr., Raymond Claxton, Kobie Claxton, Lion Roebuck, Laquan Roebuck, Doval Drew, Dion Drew and Everette Frances.

He is also survived by aunts: Lucrecia Monte, Marie Nieves and Carlota Mathurin, Gweneth Claxton Hodge (St. Thomas), Willimana Claxton(Nieves), Cherlyn Barry Claxton(Nieves) and Rose Claxton Tyson(Nieves); uncles: Angel Nieves, Carlos Nieves, Jaime Monte and Victorino Nieves; brother-in-law, Luis R. Ayala Sr.; sisters-in-law: Karen Claxton, Gloria Claxton and Liana Claxton; and special friends: Jennifer James, Virgin Islands Fire Service, North Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventist staff and CHS Class of 1983.

Other survivors include cousins and other friends: Marisa Trinidad, Dr. Robert Centeno, Siedah and Rashawn Broene, Anthony Harris, Marcelo and Orlando Cruz, Marisol Carter, Iheshia Nieves, Laura Way, Dean Everington, Jose-Jaime- Javier Monte, Athena Nieves, Tiffany Nieves, Carlos-Wilfredo-Briseida Ortiz, Daisy-Carlos-Enrique-Daniel-Damary Nieves, Jacqueline Santiago, Yolanda Audifre, Elizabeth and Juan Santiago; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The viewing will take place at 9 a.m. and the funeral service at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Iglesia Metodista Hispana De Santa Cruz. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
