Lora Thomas Whitfield died on July 9 at the age of 49 in Vancouver, Washington.
A memorial service will be held at City Harvest Church, Vancouver, Washington from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 20, on St. Thomas. A viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, July 25, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home & Crematory Service. A second viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with a service beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 26, at the Emmanuel Baptiste Church, Anna’s Retreat. Burial will take place at the Eastern Cemetery, Smith Bay, St. Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Violet “Betty” Thomas.
She is survived by her father, Arthur Thomas; sons: Delano King and Quinton Whitfield; daughter, Quinita Whitfield; grandsons: Braylon King and DJ King; sisters: Stephanie James, Melanie Donovan, Mona Smith, Juliene Allen, Sharleen Fahie, Ertha Thomas, Patricia Lindsey and Bridgette Vaughan; and brothers: Kayran Thomas, Patrick Thomas, Oscar Thomas and Hurbert Thomas.
She is also survived by nieces: Sharifa Neille-Kwao, Afryea Ford, Tedisha Fahie-Agyei, Terisha Fahie-Stokes, Ayana Campbell, Monica Smith and Kyshanna Thomas; and nephews: George Donovan, Ted Fahie Jr. , Jelani Allen, Jawara Allen, Tarik Fahie, Michael Smith, Dalanie Donovan, Kevonte Thomas, Malachi Thomas, David Lindsey II, Christian Sawyer, Jordan Sawyer, Shawn Vaughan, Ozzie Thomas, Oscari Thomas and Oski Thomas.
Other survivors include great nieces: Sydney Stokes, Nakwesha Fahie-Gregoire, Paris Stokes, Zoey Campbell, Daniesa Kwao, Katelin Fahie and Shamira Kwao; great nephews: Leighton Ford, Brighton Ford, Shem Campbell and GeMel Donovan; uncles: Kenrick and Uric Thomas; aunts: Keturah Thomas, Delmina Canton, Irene Roumou, Henrietta Thomas, Eltera Lettsome and Erenita Gibson; brother-in-law, Darvin Donovan; godmother, Eleanor Blackman; the Thomas, Skelton and Stout families; the IEKHS Class of 1988; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
