It is with deep sadness that the family of Gloria Emanuel Carter announces her passing on Monday, April 8, after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was a registered professional nurse of 40-plus years in the Virgin Islands and abroad.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 6, at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral. There will be no viewing.
She is survived by her nieces: Ann-Paul Williams, Antoinette Ernest and Candance Parilla (niece-in-law); nephews: Derek “Candyman” Parrilla, Franke Hoheb, the late Michael Paul and former Senator Alvin “Ali” Paul; former husbands: Trevor Stewart, Errol Baynes and Waverly Carter; great-nieces and nephews: Edwin Emanuel Jr., Shahara Emanuel-Harrigan, Marie, Christopher and Calvin Paul, Chantel Hoheb, Kwesi Williams and wife Jesulie Sanchez-Williams, Darnell Paul and wife Tara Otway-Paul, Devon Paul, Candia, Dereka and Britni Parrilla, Anthony Alvin Paul and his wife Dawn Chanel Paul, Sergio Paul Sr., Allisa Paul-Taylor, Aixa Paul-Boyde, Brandon Paul and Morgan Paul (deceased).
She is also survived by best friends: Ms. Mavis Turnbull-Richards, Iris Dottin, Irene Gopaul, Alicia Fellner, Norma Rijos-Dopson and Felecia Adams-Brownlow; special cousins: Dawn Brady and Ri Nakamura; special friends: former Gov. Charles Wesley Turnbull Ph.D., former Gov. Roy Lester Schneider MD, Dr. Alfred O. Health MD, Mary Griffin, Lois Sealey and Kim Blackett; caregivers, management and staff of Queen Louise Home for the Aged, and Dr. Valerie Peterkin and staff at Roy Lester Schneider Hospital.
