St. Croix Man Charged with Rape

A 52-year-old St. Croix resident, Carlos Ayolo, was arrested Friday, April 26, after police received a report that he had raped a female acquaintance.

According to the V.I. Police Department, at 12:05 a.m. Friday, patrol officers requested the assistance of detectives from the Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Domestic Violence Unit.

An investigation was conducted and revealed that a female acquaintance reported that Ayolo had raped and sodomized her.

Aloyo was charged and arrested for first-degree rape. No bail was set, as per the domestic violence statute. He was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending his advice of rights hearing.
