High School Student Charged with Gun and Narcotics Possession

The V.I. Police Department was summoned to St. Croix Central High School Thursday after school officials reported finding a gun and narcotics on a student who had allegedly assaulted a teacher.

According to the report, at 2:05 p.m. Thursday the 911 call center received a call from the school reporting the incident.

The responding officers contacted the school monitors, who told them that the student had assaulted a teacher and, upon further investigation, found a loaded handgun and narcotics in the student’s book bag, along with more than $300 in U.S. currency.

The student’s name was not released due to his age.

The minor suspect was arrested and charged with possession of unlicensed firearm. He was processed at the Juvenile Bureau. The case is under investigation by the VIPD Juvenile Bureau.
