Gunmen Rob Two in Frederiksted

Two armed men robbed a pair of people on Strand Street in Frederiksted Saturday evening.

According to the V.I. Police Department, a call came into 911 at 8:45p.m. Saturday about a robbery in the vicinity of Strand Street. The victims reported that two masked males approached them and forced them into their vehicle at gunpoint. The gunmen forced them to drive to the Scotia Bank in Diamond, where they were forced to withdraw money from the ATM.

After obtaining the cash and a cell phone, the suspects left the scene in the victims’ silver Jeep Wrangler rental, heading west.

The Criminal Investigations Bureau asked anyone with information on the incident to call the CIB at 340-778-2211, the 911 call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477. Calls to Crimestoppers are completely confidential, and can earn the tipster a cash reward of as much as $2,500.
