Tracy Richardson, 48, of St. Thomas was arrested Wednesday after a woman identified him as the male who assaulted her Wednesday at her residence, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to police, the victim – who was not named but was identified as the suspect’s spouse – told officers she was at her residence when Richardson came home and started to argue with her. Several items were damaged in the residence, she said.
The victim told officers Richardson left the residence, then returned and struck her in the face with a closed fist, causing injury to the right side of her chin. He also pointed a gun at the victim and fired shots outside the residence, police said.
Richardson was charged with third-degree assault/domestic violence and illegal discharge of a firearm. No bail was set, as per the territory’s domestic violence law, and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
