Two more suspects were arrested over the weekend as the V.I. Police Department continued its Operation Clean Sweep, which resulted in three arrests Friday.
According to police the Criminal Investigation Bureau and Special Operation Bureau executed two more “Clean Sweep” warrants over the weekend arrested one more suspect on a separate warrant.
– Kareem Mathias, aka “Stinky,” age 24 of Frederiksted, was arrested and charged with attempted murder on a “Clean Sweep” warrant issued by a U.S. magistrate judge. No bail was set and Mathias was remanded to Golden Grove Correctional Facility pending his advice of rights hearing.
– Robert Courtney Dion Bascus, Jr., age 21 of Frederiksted, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery on a “Clean Sweep” warrant issued by a the V.I. Superior Court. Bail was set at $100,000, unable to post bail he was remanded to Golden Grove Correctional Facility pending his advice of rights hearing.
– Lennox P. Cabral, age 52 of Christiansted, was arrested and charged with unlawful sexual contact on a warrant issued by a V.I. Superior Court. Bail was set at $150,000. Unable to post bail, Cabral was remanded to Golden Grove Correctional Facility pending his advice of rights hearing.
Three other men are still wanted on warrants issued as part of Operation Clean Sweep, the police said. They are:
– Dasha Graham, 21, wanted on a charge of third-degree burglary;
– Ahmed Francis, 30, wanted on a charge of unauthorized possession of a firearm; and
– David George, 43, wanted on a warrant charing unauthorized possession of a firearm.
