Suspect Arrest, Charged in 2013 Jewelry Theft

Shaquielle Correa, 21, was arrested by the V.I. Police Department Thursday and charged in the 2013 robbery of a Charlotte Amalie jewelry store.

According to police, Correa was one of "several" black men who entered the Gems and Gold Corner in Drake’s Passage at about 9:50 a.m. Sept, 16, 2013, and robbed the establishment at gunpoint. The men removed gold items from the showcase and then exited the business.

He was arrested on a warrant issued by the Superior Court and charged with second-degree robbery, first degree assault, third-degree assault, grand larceny, possession of stolen property, and aiding and abetting. He was remanded to Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau will continue to follow-up on all leads make more arrest in pending cases, the police said.
