Robbery Reported in Estate Nazareth

A man was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon as he stood by the side of Ridge Road in Estate Nazareth, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, the incident took place at 4:26 p.m. Thursday.

The victim, who was not identified, told police officers he had pulled over to the side of Ridge Road to relieve himself, leaving his keys in his vehicle’s ignition. While in the bushes he heard a vehicle approaching and make a sudden stop.

Two armed men got out of the vehicle and pointed their firearms towards the victim, demanding everything in his pockets.

The man told police he feared for his life, so he handed over his cell phone and all the money he had in his pockets. The thieves also removed his keys from the ignition of his vehicle and fled the scene heading west. The victim was not injured during this incident and declined any medical treatment.

Police urged anyone with information about the robbery to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-714-9807 ext. 5556, the 911 call center, or to contact the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.crimestoppersusvi.org.
