Kareem Huggins, a 29-year-old Contant man, was arrested early Sunday and charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm, according to the V.I. Police Department.
The arrest took place at 3:32 a.m. Sunday after Huggins was stopped during a police initiative on Alton Adams Drive in the vicinity of the Illusions Night Club.
According to the police report, further investigation revealed that the firearm found in his possession had been taken from a police officer during a 2009 armed robbery. Huggins was then additionally charged with robbery and possession of stolen property.
Bail for was set at $120,000 and Huggins was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise of rights hearing.
