No serious injuries have been reported after an altercation between several students at Charlotte Amalie High School sent the school’s campus into lockdown around midday on Tuesday.
Sources reported that nearly a dozen emergency vehicles including eight police cars, a fire truck and an ambulance responded to the incident, but a police release reports only that one male student slipped and fell during the skirmish and was uninjured, and that another student was transported to Roy Lester Schneider Regional Hospital after suffering an anxiety attack.
There were no shots fired and no arrests have been made.
CAHS’s campus remained on lockdown until 3 p.m. following the skirmish, and police officers returned to the school to assist with keeping the peace as school was dismissed for the day.
CAHS administration has begun an investigation into the incident.
