Police Investigate Homicide in Contant Knolls

A 23-year- resident of the Contant Knolls Housing Community was gunned down Thursday night, the V.I. Police Department reported.

It’s was the 39th homicide in the territory since the first of the year, the 19th on St. Croix.

The victim was identified as 23-year-old Kadeeem John, a resident of the Contant Knolls Housing Community.

At 11:45 p.m. the 911 emergency call center dispatched officers to the housing community to look into a report of gunfire. Arriving at the location, officers discovered the body of an unresponsive black man in the vicinity of the Community Center.

Emergency medical technicians were summoned and found no visible vital signs as the victim appeared to have sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper torso.

Police asked anyone with information on this homicide to phone the Major Crimes Unit at 340-642-8449 or 911, or to contact the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
