Man Shot at Frydenhoj Ballfield

An unidentified man was wounded by gunfire Monday evening in the area of Frydenhoj, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, at roughly 6:13 p.m. officers were notified that an individual had been shot. The male victim, whose name was not released by police, was driven to the Schneider Regional Medical Center emergency room by private vehicle escorted by police units.

Officers and detectives with the Major Crimes Unit and Criminal Investigation Bureau met with the victim, who said he had been shot while in the area of the ball park. He told officers he had been unable to see the individual or individuals involved in the incident.

He was treated for the wound he’d sustained and released.
