The immediate family of Ramon Fuertes, 85, former long-time resident of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, sadly announces his passing on Sunday, Sept. 13, in Leesburg, Fla., after a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his wife, Aida Luz Louzau Fuertes; daughters: Vivian Vega, Yvonne Perez, Yvette Milo, Wanda Tucker and Rachel Fuertes; son, Ramon “Papo” Fuertes Jr.; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Survivors also include his brother, Miguel Fuertes; sisters: Lolita Fuertes and Irene Gonzales; sister-in-law, Tany Fuertes; daughter- in-law, Jessica Fuertes; sons-in-law: Michael Vega, Sal Milo, Gary Tucker; and many nieces and nephews.
Services celebrating his life and legacy were held on Sept. 21, at The Page Theus Funeral Home in Leesburg, Fla., followed by internment at The Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
