A man was stabbed early Wednesday at St. Thomas nightclub and was treated for his injuries, the V.I. Police Department reported Thursday.
According to the VIPD, at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday officers responded to a call of a man having sought treatment at the Schneider Regional Medical Center for stabbing injuries.
At the hospital’s emergency room, officers interviewed the victim of the assault, whose name was not released by police. The victim said he’d been in the nightclub in the early morning hours of Wednesday dancing with a woman, when someone tapped him on the shoulder.
The victim said that he turned around and saw a black man he did not know brandishing a knife that he pointed at him. The victim said that the man then swung the knife at him, slashing his shirt and abdomen as the two began to fight.
The unknown male then swung the knife at the victim again, stabbing him in the leg.
The victim was treated for the injuries sustained and released. Police continue to investigate the incident.
