Homicide on St. John’s East End

A 55-year-old man was found dead in his East End, St. John, home Tuesday. Police were called to the scene around 9:15 a.m., Police Department spokeswoman Melody Rames said.

“Detectives are investigating a homicide,” she said. Rames declined to give the man’s name until next of kin are notified.

According to Rames, the man’s employee called police when he found the man unresponsive.

She declined to say if a weapon was found at the scene or provide any of the circumstances surrounding the man’s death other than it was a homicide.

“The cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner,” Rames said.

One neighbor, who didn’t want to be identified, said everyone in the area was stunned to learn of the homicide.
