Man Discharges Shots in Frederiksted

A man standing in the rear of a small black pickup truck driving through Frederiksted on Thursday opened fire, endangering people, the V.I. Police Department said.

No one was injured but property was damaged in the incident, which police are investigating as a case of reckless endangerment.

The incident occurred about 9:15 p.m. on Queen Street in Frederiksted. Residents called the 911 emergency center and reported that a man was standing in the rear of a small black pickup truck discharging shots.

The next morning a woman living in the area reported to police that a projectile entered her apartment and damaged her refrigerator. Several buildings in the area were also struck by gunfire, police said.

The incident could have injured or killed someone.
