VIPD and Human Services Search for Runaway/Missing Teen

Police and other officials are looking for a teenage boy who is reported to have run away from the Youth Rehabilitation Center on Friday.

Officials at the Department of Human Services said Steven Jacobs did not report back to the center after the end of the school day Friday.

Witnesses reported seeing Jacobs in the vicinity of the JFK and D. Hamilton Jackson housing communities since he absconded from the custody of the Human Services Department.

Steven Jacobs is Hispanic with a light complexion. He is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds. He has black hair worn in a large afro or pulled back into a ponytail and has a tattoo of a rosary on his chest. He is known to frequent Concordia West, Mt. Pleasant West and Williams Delight.

According to the news release, police are trying to protect Jacobs’ safety. Anyone who has seen Steven Jacobs or knows his whereabouts can contact the Youth Investigation Bureau at 1-340-778-2211, the Youth Rehabilitation Center at 1-340-773-1723 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
