V.I. Fighters Dominate 'Boxing in Paradise V.I."

U.S.V.I. boxers John Jackson, Julius Jackson and Samuel Rogers dominated their opponents Saturday in front of a nearly sold-out crowd at Antilles School’s Mark C. Marin Center, posting two knockouts and a decision in 340 Boxing’s "Boxing in Paradise VI" event.

Rogers (14-0 with 8 KOs) defeated Puerto Rico’s Eduardo Adorno with a knockout 1:26 into the second round. Rogers dropped Adorno to the canvas four times in the round and a half.

Julius "The Chef" Jackson, knocked out North Carolina’s Julius Fogle (17-8 with 11 KOs,) sending him to his knees at the end of the first round. The was called shortly after/

John Jackson faced journeyman Tony Hirsch – sparring partner for international boxing champion Andre Ward. The fight went the full eight rounds, and Jackson was declared the winner by unanimous decision: 79-73, 77-75, 78-74. Records for the two fighters were not immediately available.
