Two on St. John Charged with Vehicle Theft

Police on St. John arrested two men Sunday and charged them in possession of a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

The St. John officers said they were advised that a vehicle had been taken from a rental company parking lot sometime during the early morning hours of Sunday. The management of the rental company told police the vehicle was parked in the lot when the business closed Saturday evening, but when they returned Sunday morning the vehicle was missing.

Police canvassed the area for the stolen car and, about 10:30 a.m., they located it being operated in the Cruz Bay area. The occupants of the vehicle – 21-year-old Angel Philbert of Estate Bordeaux and 20-year-old William Dishmay of Altona – were arrested and placed on bail of $10,000 each.
