Hummers, Anchor Dive, Enforcers Post Wins

The National Guard Hummers and the Anchor Dive Pirates won the Bob Owens Slow pitch Softball League’s early games easily on Thursday by way of the 10-run Mercy Rule while the Colianni & Colianni Enforcers came through in a nail-biter in the late game.

The Hummers avenged a similar shellacking from the Seaborne Stealers in their previous matchup by pounding the latter 25-6 in the night’s opening contest. The Pirates then followed with an 18-6 stomping of the Benjay Lumberjacks before losing a close one to the Enforcers in the late game, 22-21.

Enforcers 22, Pirates 21
The Pirates came out on the short end in game three when they were edged by the Enforcers in the nightcap, 22-21.
