Sgt. Maj. Charles William Petersen Sr. Dies at 74

Sgt. Maj. Charles William Petersen Sr.
Sgt. Maj. Charles William Petersen Sr., also known as "Charlie," "Charlo," "Pete" and "Boar," of Estate La Grange died on Jan. 2, at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. He was 74 years old.
He is survived by his brothers: Julio F. Petersen and Mario A. Petersen Sr. sisters: Ann V. Petersen-Parris and Joan J. Petersen; son: Charles W. Petersen, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Kizzy H. Petersen; grandchildren: Charles A. Petersen, Bryson W. Petersen and Gregory D. Humphery; nephews: Donald Petersen Jr., Rudolph Petersen, Mario A. Petersen Jr., Mario O. Parris, Maurice A. Parris, Glen R. Parris and Sylvester I. McIntosh; and great nephews: Jamal Brown, Mackeal Parris, Khaleed Parris, Maurice Parris Jr., O’Mari Parris, Darnell Petersen, Francisco Diaz, Tyrell Daniel, Jermain Kelso, Antoine Kelso, Timothy Kelso and Raschad Kelso.
He is also survived by nieces: Marcia Petersen, Anna-Marie Petersen, Ella Mae Petersen-Daniel, Janet Petersen, Leandra Petersen, Diane Petersen, Melba Kelso, Dawn Gordon and Valerie Harris; great nieces: Omni Parris, Victoria, Courtney and Shelby Gordon, and Tyra Daniel; special cousins: Kenneth and Mary Henderson, Lloyd O’ Bryan and Ralph "Percy" Johnson; friend and assistant, Hortense Milligan-Rowe; special friend and classmate, Eugene "Genix" Thomas; the Petersen, O’Bryan, Allick, Jackson, Henderson, Messer and Johnson families as well as other family and friends too numerous to mention..
A viewing will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Veterans Section.
All arrangements are by James Memorial Funeral Home Inc.
