St. Thomas police arrested a Price Smart employee Wednesday evening and charged him with assaulting two of his managers after they told him he was being fired.
Jemari Forde, 20, was arrested at about 6 p.m. Wednesday, and charged with aggravated assault and battery. According to a V.I. Police Department news release, both managers held a meeting with Forde shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday, to tell him he was being fired. Forde then punched a female manager several times in the face, resulting in a cut lip and bruises to the manager’s forehead and face.
A male manager jumped in to restrain Forde, while the female manager fought back, hitting Forde several times with a computer keyboard, the release said. The male manager also ended up with bruises on his hands and face.
Forde’s bail was set at $1,000 at the time of his arrest, and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
