Coaches in the territory for the upcoming Paradise Jam college basketball tournament will be on hand to demonstrate technique at a free basketball clinic Friday at St. Croix Central High, according to the Department of Tourism.
Boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18 are invited to participate from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Central High School Gymnasium.
The Department of Tourism will provide free refreshments, snacks, T-shirts, and musical entertainment to maximize the fun. The first 100 students will also receive Department of Tourism backpacks.
The U.S. Virgin Islands has been the home of the Paradise Jam event since its inception in 2000, offering men’s’ and women’s’ college basketball teams a chance for excellent early season competition in an exotic island setting.
The Paradise Jam men’s and women’s tournaments will take place on November 18-21 and November 24-26, respectively, at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center, St. Thomas campus.
