DPW Announces VITRAN St. Thomas Route Change

All fixed route buses on St. Thomas serving the eastern end of the island will no longer turn around at Plaza Extra Supermarket, nor will the buses enter the Four Winds Plaza, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the Department of Public Works.
Passengers coming from or going to Plaza Extra must use the last bus stop located in front of the Tutu Park Mall Post Office. Passengers coming from or going to Four Winds must use the bus stops located after the Bon Jour Service Station east and west bound, and at the last entrance to Four Winds Plaza directly across from Metro Motors.
“This route change was implemented by the Department as an important measure in ensuring the safety of pedestrians and for the overall protection of the general public,” Commissioner Darryl Smalls said.
