Agriculture Announces Temporary Closure of Abattoir

The St. Thomas abattoir will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 14, according to a press release issued Tuesday by the V.I. Department of Agriculture. The department will not be accepting animals to be slaughtered this week. This closure is due to a scheduled development workshop which VIDOA staff are required to attend. Slaughtering will resume at the abattoir on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
VIDOA regrets any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause. For any further information, contact 774-5182.
