Ernesto Vanterpool died on Sept. 1, at his residence. He was 96 years old.
He is survived by his daughter, Ife (Charlene) Vanterpool; son, Ernesto C. Vanterpool; sister, Gloria Lindo; nieces and nephews:Mark Wenner, Lt. Col. Allan L.Abbott (retired), Aloma M. Blake, Merle Charles, Esther Charles, Lawrence Charles Sr., Maddie Abraham, the Guider families, and the Farrington family of Queens, N.Y.; and special friends: Bernice Gomez, Winifred Scott, Joan Griffith and Deborah Gomez.
There will be a viewing held at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, at Lutheran Church of the Reformation. Interment will be at Western Cemetery No. 1.
