Pryce Nets 32 as Undefeated Kings Roll Over Ujima

Kings' floor general Stephen O’Reilly closely guarded by Ujima’s Williams.Devante Pryce scored a game-high 32 points, before a late third-quarter ejection justifiably ended his night, to lead the undefeated Kings to an 87-66 victory over Ujima Monday night in NBBA Action at the Ronald Charles Gymnasium.

Pryce and an Ujima player were both rightfully shown the door in game two by the referees after an exchange of elbows.

The game was dead even at the end of the first quarter at 23 and looked as if underdogs Ujima really came to play and could possibly spring the upset.

However, Pryce exploded for 18 second-quarter points to lead the Kings to a 15-point lead at intermission at 50-35; and that was basically that as far as any hopes of an upset.

Ujima would continue to fight and would close the gap to as little as 10 points, but could get no closer against the youthful, talented Kings. The Kings would outscore Ujima, 37-31, in the second half to cruise to a 21-point victory at 87-66.

Along with Pryce’s game-high 32 points, the Kings got 27 points and 10 boards from Craig “Big Smooth” Williams and 10 points and seven assists from point guard Stephen O’Reilly.

For Ujima it was Dulo Jarvis leading the way with 17 points, while teammates Najee Williams and Kareem Degrasse netted 14 and 12 points, respectively.

In Monday’s game one, Warren Christian led four teammates in double figures with 27 points and 13 boards, as Alliance rolled over Working Together, 97-61, in a contest that was over quite early. Also contributing big numbers for the winners were Amari Krigger with 24 points, Jerome Nathaniel with 19 and Keri Rhymer with 10.

Working Together was led by Shomari Francis with 17 points, while teammate Kevin Hughes contributed 12 in a losing effort.
