Grove Place Shooting Victim Being Treated at JFL

A man told police he was in the backyard of a relative’s home in Grove Place Tuesday when a man came out of the bushes and started shooting at him.
The incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in Estate Grove Place.
According to a report from the V.I. Police Department, officers were alerted by 911 dispatchers of several calls reporting shots fired in Estate Grove Place. They were subsequently notified of a wounded person being treated at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital.
According to the initial police report, the 37-year-old male victim was struck once in the left thigh, once in his upper left arm and once in his lower left arm. He said he did not know who shot him and did not have any idea who would want to shoot him.
The case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Detectives urge anyone who knows anything about this case to call the bureau at 712-6077, 712-6037 or call the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
