CCT Presents 'The Lone Star Love Potion' for Six Performances

July 19, 2008 – The Caribbean Community Theatre opens "The Lone Star Love Potion" on Friday, July 25, for a two-week run. Performances will be held at 8 p.m., on Friday and Saturday evenings, July 25-26, and Aug. 1-2. There will also be two Sunday matinees at 4 p.m., on July 27 and Aug. 3.
The play is described by the playwright, Michael Parker, as an American farce. The author has written many works in this "naughty but nice" genre – just the ticket for a summer evening's entertainment. The play opens as the immensely wealthy owner of a Texas ranch has died. His niece, butler and an alluring maid are among those gathered for the reading of the will when the butler produces from the safe a reputedly powerful love potion of exotic origin. Before long, everyone is sipping the concoction with hilarious results.
Debby Babb directs this lively and lighthearted production, which features Michael Armendariz, Ed Buckley, Claire Burke, Juanita Feldhamer, Nicole Gariepy, Tomas Lanner and Tricia Storie.
All performances will be at the CCT, No. 18 Estate Orange Grove, Christiansted. Tickets will be sold at the door: $15 for adults and $8 for students. No reservations are accepted; therefore, arrive early for the best seating. This show is not recommended for children under age 13.
