Brief: Final Results of V.I. Davis Cup Team

July 19, 20008 – The Virgin Islands Davis Cup team consisting of Kristepher Elien. Kevin Motta, Christian Nelthropp and Alric Plaskett, Captain John Wilkins and team official George Lewis, completed its competition Friday losing to Costa Rica 2 matches to 0. The doubles match was rained out.
Kristepher Elien lost to Federico Chavarria 6-1, 6-3, and Kevin Motta lost to Pablo Nunez 6-3, 6-4. The doubles match was rained out.
The Davis Cup American Zone IV competition was held in Honduras and consisted of four teams, U.S.V.I., Bermuda, Haiti and Costa Rica. The V.I. team lost all three of its matches and will remain in the 2009 Zone IV competition, according to a press release from the V.I. Tennis Association
