What's All the Talk About?

Dear Source:

There's an old saying, "every country gets the government it deserves". I thought by electing our new governor, the people of the Virgin Islands were voting for change, a new direction. If that's the case, then the 27th legislature is voting against what the people voted for. The prior administration was a government who failed its people, failed to live up to its promises. Are we not going to give this new government a chance to prove it when it comes to education?
The appointment of Dr. Spampinato is only the beginning of the process. It will take years for the turn-around. There will be more Dr. Spampinatos in the future. She's just the person this governor picked to start this fight. This shouldn't be a fight amongst ourselves. The big job is to educate our people. What's all this bickering about? She didn't get to have a "Dr." in front of her name for nothing, I'm sure it was earned, tenfold.
Give John DeJongh a chance, give Dr. Spampinato a chance. If they fail, then you have something to talk about. If they succeed, well then there's nothing to talk about except the other 5,000 things on the agenda!!!
