Bureau of Internal Revenue Office Opens at DMV

Oct. 5, 2007 – The Department of Motor Vehicles is opening a new Bureau of Internal Revenue office at the DMV, Inspection Lane, Sub Base, St. Thomas. The bureau will be collecting the highway user's tax payments exclusively at Inspection Lane. Taxpayers can pay with cash, money orders or credit/debit cards.
The opening of this office is another way to improve customer service for taxpayers, according to a press release from Director Designee Gizette L. Thomas of B.I.R. Taxpayers will no longer have to go to Mandela Circle to pay the road tax and then return to Inspection Lane to register their vehicles.
If there are any questions concerning the opening of the new office, contact Granville Smith, chief of processing, at 715-1040, ext. 2225.
