FIRST OF 4 SEMINARS ON 'STARTING A V.I. BUSINESS'

Nov. 3, 2003 — UVI's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will conduct a series of four seminars entitled "Checklist for Starting a Business in the Virgin Islands" this fall on St. Thomas.
The first seminar in the series will cover business registrations. It will be presented in collaboration with the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, Division of Corporations and Trademarks. It's scheduled 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, at the UVI-Small Business Development Center training facility at Nisky Center on St. Thomas.
Admission to the seminar is $20. There is a $5 discount for each seminar for individuals who pre-register. The series is free to veterans of the U.S. military with valid identification, UVI faculty, staff and students. These individuals must pre-register. To pre-register, call the SBDC at 776-3206 or visit the office in Suite 720.
Topics will include: registration of trade names, requirements for various forms of ownership, annual reporting and franchise taxes.
