In a warm up regatta for Europe's most prestigious event, the Admiral's Cup, Idler with Peter Holmberg aboard won the big boat class as part of a United States team win. The small boat Ciao Baby also won class, and the middle boat Blue Yankee Pride finished sixth.
The national teams consist of a fifty-foot boat (Idler), a one design forty foot boat (Blue Yankee Pride) and a one design Mumm 36 (Ciao Baby). The Virgin Islands are well represented with Peter Holmberg on Idler and Ben Beer on Blue Yankee Pride.
Blue Yankee Pride is chartered for the European competition and showed improvement throughout the regatta, as the top notch crew became used to the boat and conditions.
The Admiral's Cup starts on Wednesday and updates will be forthcoming.
