A second man has been arrested in connection with a robbery Sunday in Estate Mon Bijou, the V.I. Police Department announced Monday.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau said 24-year-old Kishawn Petersen, also known as “Tuna,” was also involved in the robbery of a business owner.
Police arrested the first suspect, Elvis Davis, Sunday and charged him with first-degree robbery along with other charges.
Detectives said their investigation revealed that Petersen also participated in the robbery. He was arrested at the same time as Davis, at about 1:15 p.m. Sunday. Like Davis, he was charged with first-degree robbery. His bail was set at $75,000.
St. Croix Police Chief James Parris said Davis and Petersen are suspected as perpetrators of several recent robberies.
“There are a few bad apples out there who are committing the majority of the crimes in this community,” Parris said. The chief urged the community to continue to call police and Crime Stoppers and offer what they know about any criminal act.
“The community plays a very important role in this process; we need to know what you know so we can close these cases swiftly,” he said.
