Brief: Man Buried at Bovoni Died of Multiple Gunshot Wounds

Dec. 7, 2007 — The unidentified black male discovered buried at the Bovoni Housing Community Tuesday died of multiple gunshot wounds to the body, the medical examiner has determined.
Police discovered the body while searching for marijuana cultivation plots and abandoned dogs kept in the area. The Special Operations Unit of the V.I. Police Department noticed a foul odor in an area near Building D of the housing community, which led to the unearthing of the body.
When the body was found, it was too decomposed for authorities to make an immediate determination about the cause of death, Police Commissioner James McCall said Tuesday night.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and are asking for anyone with information to please call 715-5535 or 911.
